3. Residential area renewal program

Introduced in 2007, the Neighborhood Innovation Program (NRP) focuses on improvements at the block and regional level and is fully funded by the Government.

To better coordinate and integrate improvements across neighborhoods, each NRP New Launch Condos involves two or more sites.

Block-level improvements include new mailboxes, an empty deck seating area, and resident nooks. Constituency-level improvements include new archways, covered links, playgrounds, exercise corners, and walking or jogging paths.

Residents of New Launch Condos can provide feedback and suggest improvements they would like to see before the NRP begins. The NRP will only proceed if at least 75 percent of eligible apartment owners in the vicinity indicate their support.

4. Remaking Our Heartland

Introduced in 2007, the Remake Our Heartland (ROH) program aims to renew old sites to ensure sustainability and vitality of the HDB CBD.

ROH plans could include upgrading town centres, neighborhood centers and parks, building new communal spaces, and improving connectivity. 13 towns and lands were selected under the ROH program.

Most of the major plans for the first two waves - Punggol, Dawson, Yishun, East Coast, Hougang and Jurong Lake - have already been completed.

Work for the third batch - Woodlands, Toa Payoh and Pasir Ris - is underway. The rejuvenation plan for the fourth batch - Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Merah, Choa Chu Kang and Queenstown - selected in March 2020, has yet to be announced.
